Pomona’s Promise

Sarah Ross, a cherished and dedicated educator in the Pomona Unified School District, touched the lives of her students with love, and the belief that every child can succeed. Sarah was an inspiration to her students, and was the founding member of the Learning Expo and Science Fair. This scholarship is given lovingly in her name.

The email must include the following information.

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • E-Mail Address
  • Your PUSD ID #
  • The High School you are attending
  • Name of College or University you hope to attend in the fall
  • Attach a 500 Word Essay

Any submission missing any of the above information will not be considered, no exceptions.

Eligibility: All Pomona Unified School District college bound 12th graders.


Application: Submit an essay of no more than 500 words describing your interest in science, engineering, and/or mathematics and how you plan to utilize those interests and skills in the future. You may include those who inspired your interest and any challenges you may have faced.

Award: Six $1000 scholarship will be awarded to science, math or engineering applicants.

Deadline for submitting your application is February 13th, 2020

Scholarship award winners will receive a scholarship VOUCHER giving instructions to request funds.

Award winner VOUCHERS will be distributed at the Sarah Ross Science Fair 2/23/2020, at The Village at Indian Hill Conference Center, 1460 E. Holt..

All Winners are required to attend the Sarah Ross Science Fair 2/23/2020, at The Village at Indian Hill Conference Center, 1460 E. Holt to be presented the scholarship.


If a winner does not attend Sarah Ross Science Fair the scholarships will be forfeited, no exceptions.

Once winners are selected the form below can be used to request funds.

All Scholarship winners MUST submit a request of funds by December 31st of the scholarship award year or the scholarship will be forfeited, no exceptions.
